This is the first ever post on sustainablematerials.ca. I am so excited that you have stopped by my website. This website is the culmination of my educational journey that started in 2014 at McGill University. As I reflected on past assignments, projects, and essays that I’ve handed in, they all share one thing in common. No matter the course content, I always wiggled my way into writing about sustainability in the materials engineering world. I realized that without the structure of university courses, all of my learning would have to be self-directed. So welcome to my passion project! Every week I will be reviewing a specific material and how engineers, scientists, politicians, and industrial organizations are advancing sustainability.
Sustainability is the buzzword of buzzwords and without a specific definition, we can get away with a lot of nonsense. The next post will focus on defining sustainability and taking a look at its infamous three-pillar model.
